Frequently Asked Questions

What is offset printing?

Offset printing is a commonly used printing technique where the inked image is transferred (or "offset") from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to the printing surface. When used in combination with the lithographic process, which is based on the repulsion of oil and water, the offset technique employs a flat (planographic) image carrier on which the image to be printed obtains ink from ink rollers, while the non-printing area attracts a water-based film (called "fountain solution"), keeping the non-printing areas ink-free.

  • Better cost for higher quantities 2500 to 50-000 pieces

What is digital printing?

Digital printing is a method of printing using digital techniques in which the data and images are printed directly from a computer onto paper, including those developed for computer printers such as inkjet or laser printers. The process differs from lithography, flexography, gravure, and letterpress printing in several ways:

  • Printing plates are not required, as in conventional methods.
  • There is less waste chemical and paper, because there is minimal time needed to bring the image "up to color" and check for registration and position.
  • The ink or toner does not permeate the substrate, as doe's conventional ink, but forms a thin layer on the surface. Because there is less initial setup, it is useful for rapid prototyping, and cost effective for small print runs.
  • Better cost for lower print quantities

What is Large format printing?

Ink Jet UV Printing is a method of printing using digital techniques in which the data and images are printed directly from a moving ink-head along a specific media such as a vinyl banner material or poster board. Many options are available with this type of printing. The options are fantastic as we can print on almost any surface using UV Cured ink which is stable in an outdoor or indoor environment for 3-5 years.

  • Printing plates are not required, as in traditional methods.
  • There is less waste chemical and paper, because there is minimal make ready to bring the image "up to color".
  • The ink is sprayed onto the surface and then is UV Cured immediately. Because there is less initial setup, it is useful for rapid prototyping, and cost effective for small print runs.

What file formats and types of materials do you accept?

We accept CS-3 files Indesign, Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Word files and Hi resolution PDF format with embedded fonts and images. We can work miracles with just about any type of file or we will give you options.

When will I get a proof for my project?

Most proofs are sent in about 1-3 hours as PDF Soft Proof, or overnight as Hard Proof.

How long will it take to print my order?

We usually ship out your job in 1-2 days depending upon complexity. But we don't press the Go Button until we are sure everything is right.

Will the color on the printed page match what I see here on my computer monitor?

All computers are different, not to mention all screens are different. The job will not match perfectly to the color on your screen. As long as you Ok the proof and checked for content, we will give you a product that is free from defects and color balance that is full, rich and pleasing. If you would, let us know if there is a color that you are concerned about we will be happy to suggest the best method for producing the project. Please contact us to go over discuss any particular or specific needs.

What if there are changes to the project after I have approved the proof to go to print?

It's ok to make changes, before press! Changes to proofs have a nominal re-proof cost fee. We make every attempt to be sure everything matches your proof. So please Check Your Proof well. We will only print when you say its "OK To PRINT". We can, and normally do, go to press immediately after we receive OK to print from you.
